Emerging Procedures Show Promise for Improving Boomers’ Vision

Today, there are many proven options for the use of refractive surgery and lens implants successfully correcting loss of vision. A series of presentations by researchers at the recent American Academy of Ophthalmology’s annual meeting indicated that new types of implants and non-invasive, LASIK-like procedures may show promise for eliminating presbyopia, the progressive deterioration of near vision that afflicts virtually everyone older than 45.
